Best Jamaican spot on the peninsula! If you're an island girl like me and crave hot rice for breakfast, they open right at 9 and have a full spread ready and waiting! The food consistently tastes awesome and my faves are the oxtail soup, the sauteed cassava, jerked wings and the patties! The grocery has a nice array of items as well! I also appreciate that they have a barrel service. I have been using them consistently for a few years and have had no issues. They can even drop off the empty barrel to you so you don't have to make the trip to the store. The price is kind of stiff to ship the barrel but that takes into account the fact that they have to be taken to NY. So I don't mind. Keep up the great work! It's a bit of a trek for me to get to the store but its well worth it!

The food is awesome, and there are so many options. The service is usually quick. They provide cooked meals, and there's a complete grocery store. If you are looking for Caribbean food, you can not go wrong with M P. I would pass by other restaurants to get to this place.

Had a great time singing karaoke with strangers at MP! My husband and I just stopped to eat dinner and it quickly turned into a party! The staff and hosts were friendly and the food was amazing. If you want to get food fast they have buffet available and if you are looking for international foods they have groceries to buy!

Staff is friendly and gives you lots of food. One of the only place to get very authentic Jamaican products in Newport news. Try the peanut Irish moss by big bamboo its so good! be aware though the texture is rather different

- Food is delicious! Folks there are nice! I ordered the veggie plate (rice n peas, cabbage, and plantain) all were delicious! Prices are great as well! First time having a veggie patty!

Oh my goodness this place is AMAZING!!!!! The food was hands down some of the best food I've ever had in my LIFE and I have moved all over the US!!! You MUST try it! $5 for this huge dish pictured!!! If i could give it 10 stars i would!!!!
